Help with your counter

Start here when the number looks wrong, a counter seems missing, or you are deciding whether to share it. You can read this help and contact support without creating a counter or making a purchase.

Count up, count down, and day zero

Count up measures calendar days since your chosen start. Count down measures days to your chosen target and stops at zero rather than becoming a negative overdue count. Today is day zero in either mode. If the target has passed and you want the next occurrence, edit it to the new date.

For example: from October 1 to October 10 is 9 calendar days. October 10 to October 15 is 5 days. Calendar days are not exact 24-hour blocks, especially across daylight-saving changes. Different devices or time zones can show a day boundary differently; check the date displayed on the device you are using.

Edit date versus reset

Use the calendar icon on the detail screen to fix a start date or countdown target. This keeps the same counter. Count-up counters also have a reset action, which sets the start to today. Countdown counters use target-date editing instead of reset.

Reset is not a typo correction or a complete history backup. If previous dates matter, record them separately before changing the counter. The reset count is not a dated journal of earlier streaks.

Milestones and reminders

The app highlights built-in day milestones at 30, 60, 90, 180, and 365 days. Where offered in the counter settings, you can configure custom milestones and optional reminder preferences. A milestone is a date marker, not certification of activity.

Browser notifications require permission and a supported browser/device. They are optional, not guaranteed alarms; do not use them as the only reminder for medical, safety, or legal obligations.

Find your counters again

Use the same browser and browser profile first. If you saved your recovery ID, use the app's recovery option to restore that session. If you previously linked an email, request an email recovery link. You cannot recover an old session by linking an email to a newly created empty session.

Recovery IDs and email recovery links are sensitive. Do not post them publicly or include them in screenshots. Clearing localStorage does not delete counters on the server. If recovery fails, contact support and describe the issue without sharing recovery links or payment card details.

Pricing and payment problems

The first eligible counter is free; device and network checks enforce that allowance. The app shows current prices for a single extra counter, a bundle of three, and a monthly unlimited plan. Stripe handles checkout. Review the current price and subscription terms there before paying.

If a purchase does not appear, return to the same Counter session and use the available payment/subscription check. Avoid buying again just to test. Keep your Stripe receipt and contact support if the problem persists. Billing management is available in the app when the session has a subscription.

What sharing exposes

A counter starts private. Making it public permits people to view its label, type, and day count through the share page. Public counters can also be listed in the sitemap for search engines. Do not use a public counter for confidential relationship, health, workplace, or client details.

Turning public sharing off blocks future public viewing. It does not remove screenshots, forwarded copies, or search caches. A person who knows your private recovery ID has a different kind of access: protect it even if every counter is private.

Contact support

Use Contact support in the footer to send a message, with no purchase required. Include the page, what you expected, and what happened. If you want a reply, include a contact email in the message. Do not send a recovery ID, recovery token, password, or full payment-card details.

You can also contact the project's public X account, @makeitcount3210, using the footer link. Support is not emergency, medical, therapeutic, or legal assistance.
